Our 25th Anniversary in Nashville Indiana

Today is our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We, my husband, younger son and I, took a day trip to Nashville Indiana. I love covered bridges so we detoured by a few on the way and one on the way home. Overall the day was lovely. A bit overcast, but pleasant. I was hoping for more antique shops, but if eclectic art work is your thing, check out Nashville Indiana.

We also stopped to see the Roberts Covered Bridge, but since it was a private residence that had posted no tresspassing on the bridge, I did not photograph it. We also looked for the Opry Mountain Covered Bridge, but were unable to find it. I sespect it is no longer in existance.

Jamfest Nationals

Spencer County High School Dance team competed in the Jamfest Nationals this weekend. They were HOT! Living in Spencer County I have to confess I am a bit partial to my home teams, but honesty, after watching them burn up the stage, the others may as well have gone home. Great job ladies!!!

Update 3/26 - I was unable to stay for the awards but am happy to report that the Spencer County High School Dance Team won 1st place in their division and also, overall Grand Champions for the Jamfest Nationals!!! CONGRATS Ladies!!!!

Glassworks

A visit to Glassworks in downtown Louisville today was a first experience for me. I had never been in the room where they blow the glass. Today they were blowing beer steins. It was very warm (ok hot) in the room, but worth the up-close-and-personal experience. Upstairs, Mark Payton, demonstrated flameworking. I think this was my favorite part!

It's Official

It's official, my Momma is moving to Kentucky from California. She bought her one way ticket, her bags are almost packed and she is almost ready to go. I have to laugh, she is already asking what we will go see and when we can go. I told her there are so many things to see and places to go here, we will never get to all of them. Guess I better start my tour guide list...

It will be nice to have my Momma here where my brother and I can see her...

Welcome home Momma!

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Happy Birthday to Jenny! We had a fun evening of PartyLite Candle Bunko and birthday cake. It’s always wonderful to spend time with family and friends! I also had fun playing with that new lens! The light was very low, but all these were taken without flash…

Test Shot Doggies

More test shots with my new lens. I think one of my favorite subjects has to be my doggies…

New Lens – First Shots

Today I got a new lens and I love it! I bought it from Chuck Rubin’s in Louisville. It is an older model Canon 80mm – 200mm f2.8. Just after I bought it, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade began so I grabbed a few first shots with the new lens. I really love the shallow depth of field I can get with this lens. Of course I will need to practice a bit more with that, but the possibilities are wonderful!

Garden Beginnings & Hints of Spring

We have garden beginning and hints of spring all around our property. This year our garden has been increased to about four times the size of last year. We had a bountiful harvest last year and I thoroughly enjoyed canning the yummy fruits of our labor. This year I am hoping to have my mom here to help with the garden and canning activities. I will need all the help I can get with the expansion of my garden. In addition to the large plot, we are adding a glass greenhouse and a fenced run to protect our seedlings until they are large enough to be transplanted. I guess everyone is exploring ways to battle the economy woes, supplementing our food supply is our primary goal.

Curious Doggies

Look at all those curious dogs. Whatcha’ doin’?

Wandering Indiana

Today I went wandering around to find covered bridges and old barns. I found a storage area with old antique farm equipment. It is amazing what you will find when you just wander with a camera.
